The proposed Limerick Wind Farm is located approximately 10km north of Crookwell and 5km east of Binda.
Project details
The project is in the early stages of development with wind monitoring and community engagement commencing in 2025.
The wind farm location was selected with a focus on minimising impacts to neighbours and the local community.

Electrical Transmission
A network of underground cables will connect the turbines to an onsite substation. The location of the onsite substation will be determined as part of the design process.
An overhead transmission line will connect the onsite substation to the existing 500kV Bannaby to Mt Piper transmission line.
Onsite Substation
An onsite substation will be located within the project footprint. The exact location will be determined as part of the design process.
Contributions to Council
Stromlo Energy will seek to enter a Voluntary Planning Agreement with the Upper Lachan Shire Council.
Community Sponsorships
The first round of community sponsorship applications is expected to be open in July 2025.
Construction Period
Construction of the project will take approximately 24-36 months and is anticipated to start in 2029.

Project approvals are expected to take 24-36 months.
Annual Community Benefits Package
A 35-year ongoing commitment to a community benefits package equivalent to at least $1050 per MW per year will be part of the project budget.
This package will include a Community benefits fund, a neighbour benefit program and ongoing contributions to Council.
Neighbour Benefit Program
Community members who own a dwelling within 3.5 km of turbines may be eligible for an annual neighbour payment.
Community Benefit Fund
A community benefit fund will be established and be overseen by a dedicated committee from the local community.
